Three women marred yet another event at the 2022 World Track & Field Championships at Eugene, Oregon’s historic Hayward Field, strolling in the inside lanes of the track, apparently oblivious to the shouts of the crowd and the runners behind them.

The trio appeared yesterday about halfway through the women’s 1500m, dropping bags and water bottles on the infield before starting their walk in lanes one and two. Forced to run around the walkers, the women’s field appeared confused and annoyed, sources said. Several of them are reported to have used foul language.

On previous days, the same three women interfered in a similar way with the men’s 400m, the women’s 10,000m, and the women’s 20 kilometer race walk.

The women, thought to be locals, have not been identified. It is unclear how they gained entry to the event, which is under tight security.

Reached for comment, one female athlete, who requested anonymity, told Dumb Runner, “What the fuck?”
